Cookies



Welcome to the blog! I know, this blog is mostly about cupcakes, but I am starting out with cookies. Last Friday, I went to a class at the ICE in NYC and took a class on cookie design. We learned how to make a basic sugar cookie as well as how to flood the cookies and add fabulous designs. Many of the designs were obtained using a toothpick drawn through wet icing that was colored and flavored with various liquors. The cookies definitely tasted good, but they looked even better. Almost too pretty to eat. Interestingly, the frosting was not a typical royal icing. It used corn syrup and no egg whites or egg substitutes. The teacher told us that the cookies when frosted can last over a week and still be fresh. Shocking if you ask me!
